It was announced just last week that the next season of the ESL Major Series was on the horizon, with Call of Duty 4 Promod back in the line-up once more. It is with great pleasure that I can now fully announce the CoD4 tournament details.
The ESL Major series is one of the biggest and most recognised online tournaments currently within the eSports scene, only overshadowed by the Intel Extreme Masters. Since the competition started back during the summer of 2007 the Electronic Esports League has hosted an impressive nine seasons spanning across thirty competitive titles, giving away an impressive total of 179,000 euros worth of prizes.
During the 10th season Call of Duty 4 has been granted a €2,700 prize pot, which has had a minor increase if compared to the previous season. To take part in the ESL Major Series you must first qualify through the national qualifiers, which will be running from now until the end of February, with the schedule and exact slot distribution being announced over the course of the next few days. The playoffs are due to take place during May 2012.
To be eligible for the national qualifiers your teams must participate with at least three players from the specified nation, for example a team wishing to compete within the German qualifiers must have at least three DE residents. If your nation does not have its own qualifier you can enter the European qualifiers, to participate in this team must not be eligible for any of the national qualifiers.
The first qualifier to be unveiled is expected to be for the United Kingdom, with more to follow during the following weeks.

The national qualifiers will be held from now on until the end of February. The exact schedule and slot distribution will be announced in the next days. For national qualifiers, please check your own national portal for news first! For EU qualifiers, keep your eyes on the CoD4 EMS X portal. We will of course make a large collection of all the different qualifiers once we get the information about them.
But i must admit that you guys don't need it at all.
