In a game that many would expect to be played at the end of the Group, to make it more of a do-or-die situation, Western Wolves and TCM-Gaming would fight around noon to get the prospective group win battle out of the way already. It would be a game of ups and downs, a true rollercoaster ride for spectators.
I had originally intended to add some videos of both teams playing, hoping to include some cool and exciting actions, unfortunately for my general clumsiness and lack of Czech language skills, I managed to delete all the videos, except for just the 4/5 failed attempts.
Back to the game now, and you had to keep up, because Western Wolves' aggressive attacking opening was over so quickly, I had problems writing it all down before missing the vital information of the next round. Before we knew it, it was not three, not four, but five to nought in rounds. A 'simplistic' mix of A rush and mid-to-B pushes gave the likes of Roe froz Langaas and Jasko cozje Berbic a great start.
Eventually, of course, TCM-Gaming also got on the board, with Jan paradox Duchon being as crucial as ever in getting picks in the opening seconds, the others chimed in nicely with their nades. Especially the timing improved drastically, as the wW SMGs were just not being stopped while attacking A house.
A reasonable 08-04 halftime score was more a statement to TCM-Gaming's impending comeback than to Western Wolves' inability to close out the awesome 05-00 lead they had. A 09-03 halftime score would have so much more to destroy the Czech's motivation.
When the tables turned, it was once again Western Wolves who took the lead and added two more to the already four round gap between both teams. What followed then was more meta game than any particularly tactical brilliance. TCM-Gaming would instigate a push to either side and make it very clear to the Western Wolves observers with nades, smokes, etc...After having pushed toward either A or B, they would then come to a near-complete halt to make the defenders anxious of the oncoming onslaught.
When the first wW victims fell, they would still not push onwards and let time tick away slowly. This proved exceptionally fruitful, with wW often making mistakes as the time ran out, TCM-Gaming following up with a small yet all-in push to either side to get a bomb down and play out the rest.
Western Wolves gave up at least six rounds because of this, making it a close, anything-still-goes 12-10 scoreline. Unfortunately for the fairy tale finish, Western Wolves finally became wiser and could muster enough self discipline to sit in and avoid the early kills to retake. Mostly due to Thomas cHoObiE Mead, though, who, in the final round, made sure none were left standing when he took down three of TCM-Gaming's four to reclaim the B bomb and complete the defuse and crucial three points.
